Another Strong Showing for QT2 Athletes Racing IM NOLA 70.3

The thing about racing Ironman events is that you always have to be prepared to face the unexpected. This past Sunday was no exception when weather conditions forced the Ochsner Ironman 70.3 New Orleans race format to be altered to a two-mile
run, 52-mile bike, and conclude with a 13.1-mile run. Neither the weather nor the race layout managed to dampen the race action.

Of the eleven QT2 Systems athletes racing, eight finished in the top ten of their respective professional/age-group classifications.

QT2 Systems Coach Mary Eggers vs. Lance Armstrong

What began as a fun competition between two QT2 Systems coaches has turned into a great opportunity to raise money for, and bring further awareness to the ongoing battle against cancer. This past February, QT2 Systems coach Mary Eggers challenged fellow coach Patrick Wheeler to a 50-yard kick off, during a recent training camp held in Clermont, Florida. Having readily dispatched of
Wheeler, Eggers set her sights much higher, when she learned that one Lance Armstrong would be a speaker at the University of Buffalo's Distinguished Speaker Series in late April.

With THIS blog post, Mary called the seven-time Tour de France winner on; April 28th, University of Buffalo's Pool, 50-yard kick off, be there! Due to Eggers' loyal following, Armstrong caught wind of the challenge and accepted, tweeting "wow, @MaryEggers has quite the following. I guess I better start working on my kicking."

Why? To kick the SH*T out of cancer! Over the past year Mary has focused a great deal of her time to Rochester, NY-based Teens Living With Cancer, a small organization that is devoted to helping teenagers to navigate life during and after treatment. "I saw this as a perfect opportunity to raise some much needed funding for these kids, who are bearing a tremendous burden, through no fault of their own", said Eggers of the challenge.
"For TLWC, just a little goes a long, long way to directly benefit these kids, and every little bit helps."

Having initially set the goal to raise $1,000 for Teens Living With Cancer, Mary was amazed when Lance raised the bar to $100,000, with the proceeds to be shared equally between TLWC, and Armstrong's LIVESTRONG Foundation. "I issued a challenge to him. He accepted, and immediately issued one right back. That is exactly how we are going to beat this disease, and what makes Lance so great. He
never settles! I don't think he even knows how."

Though Eggers fully intends to be the first to chick Armstrong, whether or not she does, doesn't really matter. What matters is the continued fight against this indiscriminating disease, which has or will, touch each of us in some way. The effort does not fall upon these two great athletes, alone. Donations can be made directly to this event, through the TLWC donation page, HERE, and will directly benefit Teens
Living With Cancer, and the LIVESTRONG Foundation.

What began as a fun competition between two QT2 Systems coaches has turned into a great opportunity to raise money for, and bring further awareness to the ongoing battle against cancer. This past February, QT2 coach Mary Eggers challenged fellow coach Patrick Wheeler to a 50-yard kick off, during a recent training camp held in Florida. Having readily dispatched of Wheeler, Eggers set her sights much higher, when she learned that one Lance Armstrong would be a speaker at the University of
Buffalo's Distinguished Speaker Series in late April.

QT2 Systems Launches First Personal Triathlon iPhone Performance Calculator

QT2 Systems has launched the first iPhone/iTouch calculator that projects an individual's triathlon race performance and determines appropriate, personalized training ranges. Jesse Kropelnicki, founder of QT2 Systems and developer of the original Triathlon Calculator says, "Triathletes put a great deal of time and focus into their race preparations, and should always be well aware of where they stand, with regard to their racing goals. This new software will help them to be more in
tune with the progress that they are making, and further motivate them to achieve their goals."

This tool will estimate any race distance, and take into account different course types. The tool will also give you race pacing and training zone recommendations including power on the bike. It was developed as a companion to its overwhelmingly

QT2 Opens 2012 Big Again at the Hyannis Half Marathon!

QT2 athletes opened up the 2012 triathlon season, this past Sunday, at the 22nd running of the Hyannis Half Marathon . In all, 29 QT2 athletes showed up and performed well on a day that was cold and very windy.

QT2 saw some amazing early-season results, which included a number of overall age-group awards. QT2 athlete, coach and pro Caitlin Snow won the overall woman's race for a record fifth straight year! No other woman has earned this distinction since the inception of the race in 1990! Congratulations Cait!

Overall the woman had two top-ten age-group finishes that included two overall category wins! For the men, this included seven top-ten age-group finishes including two overall category wins!

            Those receiving awards included:
Caitlin Snow - 1:18:34 1st Woman Overall
Amanda Kourtz - 1:19:36 2nd Woman Overall
Rich Burke - 1:13:38 3rd Male Overall
Erick Anderson - 1:14:09 3rd M18-29
Tim Tapply - 1:16:10 1st M30-39
Jesse Kropelnicki - 1:16:58 2nd M30-39

When all was said and done, QT2 had an amazing day at what has become a regular early season proving ground for the months of winter training. Luckily the weather cooperated this winter with very little snowfall in the New England region which has allowed for so much more additional outdoor training. Such solid early-season results, show great promise for the coming season. Next Stop: Texas 70.3 on April 1, 2012. See you then!

QT2 Results - Hyannis Half Marathon
Rich Burke - 1:13:38, 1st M40-49 *3rd Overall Men

QT2 athletes opened up the 2012 triathlon season, this past Sunday, at the 22nd running of the Hyannis Half Marathon . In all, 31 QT2 athletes showed up and performed well on a day that was cold and very windy.

Jesse Kropelnicki - 1:16:58 2nd M30-39

When all was said and done, QT2 had an amazing day at what has become a regular early season proving ground for the months of winter training. Luckily the weather cooperated this winter with very little snowfall in the New England region which has allowed for so much more additional outdoor training. Such solid early-season results, show great promise for the coming season. Next Stop: Texas 70.3 on April 1, 2012. See you then!

Another Successful QT2 Winter Triathlon Training Camp!

This past week 29 athletes and coaches participated in QT2 Systems' second annual training camp in Clermont, Florida. Held near the National Training Center (NTC), this first of three 2012 training camps is typically the most anticipated, as it allows athletes a few days of warm weather training, and an escape from cold weather climates.

Camp HQ were just a five-minute walk from the NTC's Olympic pool and full track facility. Two full swim sessions included between 7,000 and 10,000 yards as well as a 200-meter team relay, broken up into six groups of four. Also new for 2012 was a 5K time trial on the NTC's beautiful wind shielded track.

            NTC Track Video!

With additional coaches at this year's camp the athlete's had the added benefit of two on-deck coaches running each of the swim workouts. A special thank you to Blue Seventy for the great QT2 swim caps!

With plenty of Power Bar products to go around, athletes were well-fueled for Friday's long six-hour ride. Perfect weather conditions accompanied the riders all day long!

The first day's afternoon session included an in-depth look at Kestrel's current bike line-up, and a discussion of what makes Kestrel such a great brand. Very informative! Thank you to Jeff Bond, for his presentation!

The camp's technical discussions included a Run Video Analysis session by coach Jesse Kropelnicki as well as a Sports Nutrition discussion, by Core Diet dietician Jaime Windrow. This offered a great opportunity for the athletes to sit back, learn a little something, and recover from the day with the amazing Recovery Boots that we were provided during the camp.

Finally, the camp could not have been a success without amazing bike support, care of Fast:Splits co-owner Brian Hughes. Brian kept all of the athletes' bikes functioning properly, provided all of our PowerBar and FuelBelt nutrition products while we were out and about, and not once put a bend in the brim of his hat. Thanks Brian!

Did you miss out on the Florida camp? Not to worry. You still have two more opportunities to experience this weekend full of training and learning! June 21st - 24th we travel to Lake Placid, NY, and then it is off to Ludlow, VT August 23rd - August 26th.
