Tim was a high school and college runner, who always had a lingering desire to compete in triathlon. In 1998, while training for the Boston Marathon, an injury forced him into cross-training. He took up swimming and biking once or twice a week in order to supplement his reduced running mileage. After the marathon the cross-training stuck, and he was soon introducing more and more swimming and biking into his daily training. In August of 1998, he completed the Massachusetts Triathlon, on a $174 mountain bike purchased from Sears. Over 150 races later, Tim has completed 18 Ironman distance events. He has found a great deal of success training and racing in the New England-area, where he has won countless races, and is a perpetual top-3 finisher.

Tim began his athletic career as a ski racer; running track was simply a training tool for other sports. He began competing in triathlon in the summer of 2001, after that, he was hooked. During one of his first races watched by his father, after a characteristically poor swim, his father proudly exclaimed that the only person in his age group that he beat out of T1 was some poor soul flapping around on the ground, stuck in his wetsuit. After that, Tim began a career in the Marine Corps where he was fortunate to compete for the Marine Corps Triathlon, Marathon and Cross Country Teams. In 2006, competing in the Armed Forces National Triathlon Championships, Tim qualified for the U.S. World Armed Forces Triathlon Team and competed at the World Armed Forces Championships in Sweden. Also in 2006, Tim was fourth place overall military at the U.S. Armed Forces Marathon Championships. Tim now focuses on longer distance triathlons and marathons. He enjoyed a personal best at Timberman Triathlon in 2007, placing 16th overall and a personal best at the 2007 Marine Corps marathon, running 2:29:01 and placing 7th overall. Tim looks forward to returning to triathlon full time in 2008 and eventually moving up to the Ironman distance.

One year after her first triathlon signed up for her first Ironman in Lake Placid where she has now raced five times. Since then she has completed nine Ironman triathlons, including three trips to Kona, many 70.3 races and several shorter races. The 2003 Boston Marathon was the start of Michelle's athletic career. She became a passionate distance runner, competing in a total of 8 marathons, culminating with a 3:19 at the 2008 Boston Marathon. As marathon training began to take a toll on her body, she decided to take up indoor cycling in 2005, and later obtained her certification to teach Spin. After teaching countless cycle classes, Michelle wanted to take on a new challenge so she hit the open road and started outdoor cycling. Shortly after, she started competing in sprint triathlons in 2005, joined QT2 late 2007 and by 2008 had won Spring Fling Sprint Triathlon with a time of 57:26, placed at the top of her division in Mooseman International, Providence Half, Timberman Half, and placed 3rd overall in Pumpkinman Half with a time of 4:45:47. Michelle recently finished Ironman Arizona in 10:29:55, which awarded her a Kona slot for 2009.

After bike racing and running x-c throughout high school and college, John got the triathlon bug for real in 1998. 10 years and over 100 triathlons later, John continues to find more to love about the sport whether it’s pushing to a new level in training and racing or helping a new athlete get started in the sport.

Matt had a lot of energy growing up and throughout high school. Like a lot of teenagers, Matt's energy got him into many sticky situations. Thankfully, as a senior project, Matt's guidance counselor and family friend suggested training for the Mooseman Half-Ironman in Bristol, NH in 2006. Impressively, Matt finished first in his age group with a time of 4:54. The outlet training and racing provided led Matt to continue, and he decided to pursue Olympic distance races, as well as competing in the ITU circuit. Racing and training provide the tructure and release Matt thrives on, and continue to motivate him in his athletic, personal and academic pursuits.
