Amy Javens

QT2 Level 2 Coach

Details

Coaching triathlon was a natural fit for Amy, who has been racing multisport since 2005, and was a former educator for 17 years. Amy’s coaching style combines her knowledge of triathlon with her love of teaching. She focuses on the QT2 cornerstones and protocols, in a detail oriented approach. Amy will always be a “teacher at heart”, and brings this skill of “teaching for understanding” into her coaching style. Starting into triathlon when her children were of the ages 4-8, Amy understands the delicate balance of juggling sport with family and work, and helps her clients with doing just so. Her real life experiences of raising children with Type 1 diabetes and Celiac disease, have led her to a solid understanding of The Core Diet principles and sound nutrition, which are vital for solid athletic performances in the QT2 System. Amy helps her clients with process goal setting, tracking improvement and identifying areas to improve upon. Starting in the category of “official nose plugger” while learning how to swim as an adult, Amy had worked her way up the ranks to top amateur and eventually as a professional in the sport. Coincidently, she encourages her athletes to value consistency, balance, and patience during their own progression. She has fought through injury and it’s rehab, and has ended up on the other side as a stronger, smarter, and faster athlete. She helps her clients understand that “they are only as good as how well they can recover.” Amy has been a life long athlete. In Amy’s younger years she participated in basketball, track and cross country. She had earned numerous top honors at the PA state track meet in the hurdling and long jump events, including a 300m Hurdle State Championship, and a prestigious USA Track and Field Interscholastic Honorable Mention. Amy continued to run in college as a scholarship athlete. Post track and field, she focused her energy on maintaining fitness, teaching various fitness classes, pursuing a teaching career, coaching, and starting a family. Post babies, she rediscovered her “inner athlete” and has had the privilege to race at the Boston Marathon and the Ironman World Championships (70.3 and 140.6). Amy is currently racing as a professional on the QT2 PRO Team.
