Elite Team

The Elite Team is for those QT2 One-on-One or Mission coached athletes who have achieved top level success in triathlon. For both men and women in 2012, this is defined by a finish within the past year that was within 16% of the first place overall male or female finisher, respectively, at any race with a prize purse totaling, or exceeding $5,000. Alternatively, any athlete in possession of a Pro/Elite license is automatically accepted. All elite team athletes receive a 10% discount on all QT2 coaching services, discounts on events, and receive top level exposure to and benefits from the team's sponsors. Elite Team members have also typically earned most of the cash race bonus pool which is $8,000 in 2012. The QT2 2012 Elite Team has 15 professional athletes enrolled!

Bio: As a kid playing sports, running was considered punishment. I had always hated the thought of exercising for the sole purpose of getting into shape. But my lifestyle had become destructive and I needed an outlet. Those first few weeks of running were pathetic. I hated every second of running, but I loved the sense of accomplishment that came with finishing a run. Everything was new back then, and I was setting the bar higher and higher everyday. Five short weeks after my first run ever, I was tricked into running a half marathon. My roommate had singed me up. He didn’t even tell me how far I’d be running. That first race was one of the most interesting experiences of my life. It was painful and nerve wrecking, but I stuck it out and never gave up. I ended up running just over 1:33, and I was officially hooked on racing.

With zero experience in swimming or cycling, I took up triathlon the next summer and never looked back. A couple years later after I graduated fromClevelandStateUniversity, I moved out west toArizonaand decided that I was going to pursue triathlon fulltime. After a year and a half of training and way too many setbacks, I had a decent performance at Florida 70.3 finishing as the top amateur and 13 overall. After that race, I finally decided that it was time to race triathlon professionally and see what I could do against the best in the sport.

As for most, did my fist triathlon at 18 for fun and got addicted. Invited to the Olympic training center at the age of 22 but my passion is long distance, non-draft triathlons. My debut Ironman was Oct 2010 at Challenge Barcelona where I got 5th OA in a time of 8h25m. Set the national record of my country over the IM a month after when I finished Ironman Florida in 2nd place in a time of 8h19. Bio: Tim began his athletic career as a ski racer; running track was simply a training tool for other sports. He began competing in triathlon in the summer of 2001, after that, he was hooked. During one of his first races watched by his father, after a characteristically poor swim, his father proudly exclaimed that the only person in his age group that he beat out of T1 was some poor soul flapping around on the ground, stuck in his wetsuit. After that, Tim began a career in the Marine Corps where he was fortunate to compete for the Marine Corps Triathlon, Marathon and Cross Country Teams. In 2006, competing in the Armed Forces National Triathlon Championships, Tim qualified for the U.S. World Armed Forces Triathlon Team and competed at the World Armed Forces Championships in Sweden. Also in 2006, Tim was fourth place overall military at the U.S. Armed Forces Marathon Championships. After posting a personal best marathon time of 2:28:59, Tim now focuses on 70.3 and Ironman distance triathlons. He enjoyed a number of personal bests in 2010 placing 9th overall and posting the fastest run split of the day at Mooseman 70.3. He followed that with a 12th overall at Ironman Lake Placid where he was the 3rd overall non-professional and set the course record for the 35-39 age group.
