Ironman New York City, Timberman, Ironman Mount-TremblantAugust 22, 2012
The past two weeks have, again, seen a great deal of success for so many of our athletes, including first time Ironman finishers, new PRs, top-10 age group finishes, an overall race win, and a new group of Kona bound athletes! Ironman New York City August 11, 2012: With a last minute sewage threatening to turn Ironman New York City into a Duathlon, it was all just part of what makes New York special. Even having avoided this contingency, participants of the inaugural race still had their fair share of pre-race jitters. The logistics involved with race morning, ferries to the starting dock, weather that included rain, and extreme humidity all combined to challenge those brave enough to take on what is now in hindsight being considered as one of the more difficult races on the Ironman circuit. But as usual, the QT2 athletes performed above and beyond expectations. Two top-10 finishes for the Pro's, highlighted three PR's and a punched ticket to Kona. Timberman 70.3 August 19, 2012 Timberman 70.3 has long been a favorite amongst athletes in the Northeast. With the swim taking place in the world famous, and beautiful waters of Lake Winnipesaukee, and challenging bike and run courses, athletes have always flocked to the venue. Ideal weather conditions made for great racing, and an exciting finish in the women's race. Professional athletes Caitlin Snow and Erick Anderson finished 2nd and 8th overall, respectively. On the age group side of the board there were two age-group wins, six top-10 age group finishes, one first-time 70.3 athlete, a PR, and two Vegas slots earned! Matt Curbeau won his age group (M25-29) (14th overall for the day), by over five minutes with the second fastest bike, and fastest run splits of the day. Jocelyn Cornman won her age group (F30-34), by more than two minutes, and captured the overall women's amateur win. Those receiving awards include:

The challenging course was raced in cool conditions. QT2 athletes took full advantage of these conditions, taking the overall women's race win, and five Kona slots along the way. Having won Ironman Lake Placid, just four weeks earlier, Jessie Donavan blazed through the bike course, nullifying her swim deficit within the first few miles of the run. Once taking hold of the lead, she never looked back, stretching out her lead for a comfortable win. In the age-group race, QT2 Systems athletes had a phenomenal day. Six athletes raced under 11 hours. There were five Kona qualifiers, eleven PR's, and two first-time Ironman finishers.
