About Doug

Doug grew up in Vestal, NY, and received a Bachelor's degree in 2002 from Cornell University, where he was a member of the rowing team. After graduating, he served as an officer with the United States Navy from 2002-2006. Upon finishing graduate school at the University of Michigan in 2008, he moved to Colorado to start a career in triathlon.

Doug joined QT2 Systems in the Fall of 2009, and brings his considerable knowledge of the sport to QT2 clients. He employs a "no nonsense" approach to coaching, and focuses on developing both mental and physical durability in his clients. He also has particular interests in injury prevention, race fueling, and race tactics. Doug is continually growing as a coach, and 2012 was a banner year, as 5 of his 11 athletes raced in Kona.
