Doug grew up in Vestal, NY, receiving a Bachelor's degree from Cornell University, where he was a member of the rowing team. After graduating in 2002, he served as an officer with the United States Navy for 4 years. In 2006 he enrolled into a graduate program at the University of Michigan, where he discovered the sport of triathlon. Upon graduation, in December 2008, he moved to Colorado Springs, where he completed a 3-month coaching internship at Carmichael Training Systems. Doug joined QT2 Systems in the Fall of 2009, and brings his considerable knowledge of the sport to QT2 clients. Having completed QT2's Coaches Training Program, Doug specializes in developing season periodization plans focusing on incorporating appropriate levels of stress, to elicit training adaptations. Doug now lives in Boulder, CO, where he trains, races, and coaches. |
