About Tara

Tara's athletic career stretches back to her childhood; she played competitive sports (fast pitch softball, basketball, volleyball) in high school and also played basketball in college. In 2001, Tara decided to take on the challenge of a marathon - she finished the NYC marathon and was instantly hooked on endurance sports. Tara has completed a total of 8 marathons including Chicago, Miami, Boston and NYC (5 times). In the midst of marathon training and racing, Tara was introduced to the sport of triathlon and completed her first race sevan years ago - an Olympic distance race in the Hamptons - and instantly realized her true passion was with the sport of triathlon.

After running Boston in 2006 and setting a PR, Tara decided it was time to take a break from marathons and step up to the next big challenge: the Ironman. Four months later, she completed Ironman Canada. Since then she has completed 4 more Ironman races including Ironman Lake Placid (2007, 2008, 2009) and Ironman Hawaii (2007). Long course racing aside, Tara's true passion and success has come in medium and short course racing with numerous podium and overall finishes.

After a less-than-stellar 2009 triathlon season, Tara found herself looking for a change. That change came in the form of QT2 Systems. Tara started working with QT2 Coach Caitlin Snow in August 2009, and after following the QT2 protocol for 3 months she set a NYC marathon PR by 14 minutes. This success carried over to Tara's 2010 season with numerous podium & overall finishes, all a direct result of hard work and dedication to the QT2 training protocol.

Tara is a USAT Level 1 certified coach and has been coaching athletes in the NYC area for over a year. She is a firm believer in the QT2 training protocol and the success that can be achieved through hard work, dedication and execution of the QT2 training protocol. Her main goal as a QT2 coach is to share her knowledge and experience with athletes to help them reach their full potential.
