Matt Curbeau

QT2 Level 2 Coach

Matt grew up as a three-sport athlete playing football, basketball and baseball in high school. After playing baseball and becoming a mainstay in the St. John Fisher College weight room he took his talents to Corporate America where he was a Certified Public Accountant for a Big 4 company. It was during his time as a CPA that he was first introduced to multisport, partaking in a local duathlon. Shortly thereafter his love affair with bicycles (and triathlon) blossomed. After many bikes, countless hours of training and numerous races later Matt has become an accomplished triathlete in his own right, having competed in the Ironman World Championships in Kona, HI, winning the Amateur race at the REV 3 Quassy Half and finishing 16th overall at IMLP in 2013. Matt learned of QT2 Systems and their protocols shortly after beginning his triathlon career. During the summer of 2010 he attended a weekend Camp put on by QT2 Systems in Vermont. It was during this camp that he saw in person what “QT2” was all about. Training along side QT2 athletes who were top professional athletes and amateurs alike gave insight on what it took to achieve that level of success. Since that experience Matt has been a believer in the philosophies developed by Jesse Kropelnicki, QT2 Founder and Head Coach. Matt himself is a great example of what can be accomplished through hard work and sticking to a plan. His experience with training for Triathlon, while at the same time working full-time in Corporate America as a CPA gives him valuable insight on how to balance the two, thus enabling his athletes to get the most out of themselves with the time they have. Matt’s analytical ability allows him to sift through the vast amounts of data gathered through training and racing and help athletes make sense of an otherwise daunting puzzle. Matt’s knowledge of Triathlon, his professional background and racing experience allow him to help others create a plan for achieving their goals.
