Tara Strassburg

QT2 Level 3 Coach

Tara's athletic career stretches back to her childhood; she played competitive sports (fast pitch softball, basketball, volleyball) in high school and also played basketball in college. In 2001, Tara decided to take on the challenge of a marathon - she finished the NYC marathon and was instantly hooked on endurance sports. Tara has completed a total of 10 marathons - including Chicago, Miami, Boston and NYC – and most recently the JFK 50 Mile Ultra Marathon. After running Boston in 2006 and setting a PR, Tara decided it was time to take a break from marathons and step up to the next big challenge: the Ironman. Four months later, she completed Ironman Canada. Since then she has completed 7 more Ironman races including Ironman Lake Placid (2007, 2008, 2009), Ironman Hawaii (2007), Ironman Cozumel (2010), Ironman Canada (2011), and Ironman NYC (2012). She has also completed over thirty 70.3 distance races, earning 70.3 World Championship qualification 6 years in a row. While Tara’s love and passion for racing is still running strong, her biggest goal and focus has now turned to coaching and seeing her athletes achieve success. Tara is a USAT Level 1 certified coach and a QT2 Level 3 coach, and has been coaching athletes for over 6 years. In 2013, she “retired” from her full-time job as a Structural Engineer and is now a full-time coach with QT2 Systems. Her roster includes athletes of all abilities, from Age Groupers to Elite Age Groupers to PROs. Her main goal and passion as a QT2 coach is to share her knowledge and experience with her athletes to help them reach their full potential!
